Chris Ellzey
Chris was born and raised in Greenville, SC. He attended Clemson University where he majored in political science and pre-law. His plans were to go to law school, but God had other ideas.
He began volunteering at a children's home and fell in love working with disadvantaged kids. As his senior year came to a close the Lord gave him an opportunity to work at a children's home in Georgia, while at the same time, closing the doors to law school.
Chris took the calling to Eagle Ranch where he worked in the Faith Home. This was the youngest boys home on the ranch. When Chris wasn't there, he was working at the school, and it was at the school that he met his wife Anna Kathryn. She couldn't stop hitting on him and flirting with him, so they finally went out.
Once Chris asked her to marry him, they had to begin looking for new jobs. Chris knew that God had been calling him to continue working with youth, but this time in a field where he could focus more on their spiritual growth. After many months of waiting and being tested in his faith, his wedding date was only about a month away. Chris kept trusting in God to provide, and that is exactly what God did. Hunter Gray gave him a call and after talking, they both felt God's peace. Chris went down to interview, and the rest is HIStory.
About Chris
Favorite Food:
Steak and seafood is the way to my heart. I love eating all kinds of different fish, as well as shirmp and crabs. I will eat mostly any kind of meat rare. Cheap meat, expensive meat, it doesn't really matter.
Favorite Music:
Basically, anything but country music. I really like exploring different kinds of Christian rock, rap, punk, alternative, etc.
Favortie Thing To Do:
Spend time with my wife. I love being around her! She is funny, sweet, and makes me want to be a better person (isn't that nice and cheesy).
Biggest Desire:
That is a hard question, because I have a lot of things I am passionate about. I want life to be a great adventure where I see all kinds of new things, and experience stuff that blows me away. I want to see the youth of Mandeville become engulfed in this passion to serve the Lord.
